![]() 1967 Ford Fairlane 500$5,7501967 Ford Fairlane 500. This car came from my wife's grandmother in 1985, following her death. She purchased the car used in 1968 in Rome, Georgia. This is a Southern Car and has been garaged for a major part of its life. The miles (117k) are original. This Fairlane has had excellent care. We started the restoration process: paint in original color (Meadowlark Yellow) is fairly new; bumpers rechromed; engine rebuilt in 1999 (had 100k on it); new carpet (@2004), original upholstery and head liner, new door weather seal, new window gutter. The radio works. This car drives well, tracks true on the road. Still has original trunk liner. The tires (Michelin) were new in December before we decided to sell. We just had the front end redone with new ball joints, tie rods, etc. Does not use oil and has no leaks that we know of. Transmission works smoothly. Hoses and belts are good. This is a great car and would drive cross country today. All totaled, we have put around $7000 in this car in the past ten years to keep it in good condition. Problems: interior light does not work, driver window mechanism is missing one tooth and has to be raised carefully. The upholstery has now started to show its age. Head liner has started to disintegrate in passenger rear corner. There are two very small bubbles of rust that we can find. Other than those, we know of no rust. We would welcome an outside mechanical inspection. This car has a good bit of sentimental value to my wife, and we would like it to go to someone who love the Fairlane and will treat it right. We are trying to raise money for a wedding. Hate to sell it--it has been a great car for us. Contact Information: Dan T. Presented by OldCars.com Classic Car Classifieds |
